Do You Have Gas?

Updated: Jun 23, 2023

No - not that kind. I’m referring to a medical term called General Adaptation Syndrome. This is directly caused by “stress”. It not only affects your mind, but your body as well.

To beat stress, you have to understand the root cause. Otherwise, stress will lead to exhaustion and burnout.

The root cause of stress is fear, based on a future that may or may not happen. The way to conquer fear, is to focus on the present. Our faith walk is hindered when we have trouble with trusting God for our future. Stop living in the future.

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Jesus promised that he knows what we need, and will provide what we need when we need it. Being focused on the present mission for today is a fear killer. Any area you have fear is a part of a future you are trying to own that does not belong to you.

It truly is a battle of the mind. The only way to win, is to eliminate the cause of GAS - and that’s worrying about tomorrow. Focus on today, Give the Lord tomorrow, and see what happens.

"So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

~ Matt 6:31-34
